On the rise

LSU

The tigers might be the hottest teams in college football. LSU has a solid defense, with an unstoppable force at running back again. The tigers’ secondary should be a good or even better than the 2017 squad.

LSU will need to solidify some lose ends. They will need to find a quarterback, and not just any quarterback. The Tigers need a quarterback who is fearless and has swagger, because the teams LSU will be playing in 2017 will be very difficult to deal with if they do not find a quarterback.

LSU biggest test will be against Alabama. The Tide have owned the series as of late, and if LSU can stop Alabama, LSU will be in the driver’s seat to win the SEC West.

USC

After a jaw dropping finish to the 2016-2017 season, USC is looking to build of their performance. USC, Sam Darnold, is arguably the best quarterback in the country. Darnold has a unfazed attitude, which is a great quality to have as a quarterback at USC. Darnold seems to not get rattled under pressure or when he turns the ball over. Darnold has a short memory, and USC will go as far as Darnold takes them.

The offense should be solid, but the USC defense should do well. The Trojans return two solid corners, Iman Marshall and Jack Jones. Both corners are big and physical. The Trojans must count on the two corners and a few other veterans to make a huge leap in 2017. The defense went through growing pains in 2016.

Now, year two under defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast, I expect the Trojans to dominate the Pac-12 in 2017.

USC biggest test will be against Washington. Washington loss to USC last year, but ended up getting the vote to get into the college football playoff.

If USC can continue their run from last season, USC will be in the College Football Playoffs.

Georgia

The bull dogs are a team on the rise, but they are also a team that will fall short of the College Football Playoffs. The dogs had signed a very impressive recruiting class, but the Dogs are still a few years away from obtaining a Playoff birth.

The Dogs have a few humps they have too leap over, and the Florida Gators are at the top of that list. The Gators have won the SEC East two years in a row with less than stellar quarterback play.

The Dogs have always had solid running backs, offensive linemen, defensive linemen, and quarterbacks, but lacked the swagger needed to push past the Gators and the rest of the SEC East.

The Dogs biggest test will happen in Jacksonville, Florida, against the Florida Gators. If the Dogs can win that game, the sky is the limit for the Dogs.

Running back Nick Chubb, quarterback Jacob Eason, and Wide Receiver Javon Wims, will be key players on offense to get the Dogs on top.
