This weekend shook up the top-10. Clemson took a huge hit on Friday night; losing to Syracuse and their quarterback, Kelly Bryant. The tigers will be on a bye this week, so they will have time to regroup and figure out where to go next, because if Bryant is out for the season Clemson might not win against NC State or Florida State.
The conference that took the biggest hit because of this weekend’s madness was the Pac-12. Both Washington programs, Washington State and Washington, both loss to unranked teams in conference play. The Pac-12 is the only conference without an undefeated team. The Pac-12 will have to rely on USC to get them into the College Football Playoff.
Miami and Notre Dame both enter the top-10. Miami is coming off a game winning field goal against Georgia Tech and a late game touchdown over Florida State to stay undefeated. Miami has a lot of injuries they must address if they hope to stay in the top-10. Miami is currently without their starting running back, wide receiver, right guard, safety, and cornerback. Key players at key positions, and with tougher test ahead, Miami will need to get these guys back on the field.
#10 Notre Dame has played well since their close loss to #2 Georgia. But, next week Notre Dame will be in an old school rivalry against USC. I expect a good old fashion slug fest between two old programs.
