Notre Dame cracks the top 10 at No. 9. They dismantled their rival, the USC Trojans, with ease. They imposed their will on the Trojans to the tune of a 49-17 beat down. After that eye-popping victory, the Fighting Irish are a real contender for the college football playoffs.
Miami comes in at No. 8, but the Hurricanes are playing with fire. The last 3 weeks, Miami has had some close wins. Miami will have moments in the game where they look like a top 5 team, and then they will have moments where they look like they don’t know how to move the ball. Miami will play North Carolina next week, and then they will have two of the toughest weeks of the year. Virginia Tech on Nov. 4th and Notre Dame the next week.
No. 2 Penn State will play No. 7 Ohio State this weekend, and this should be a determining factor on whether Penn State can run the table, or be stopped in their tracks by the buckeyes. Urban Myer loves to coach in big games, and when the season is on the line Myer tends to come out on top. I expect Penn State vs Ohio State to come down to the wire.
