If you are surprised well so are we. The Jaguars are in the mist of one of the greatest turnaround stories in sports. The Jags last year won only three games, but now they are one win away from playing in the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history.
The Jags, on Sunday, played an incredible game against the Steelers to start the first half– going up 28-14 at halftime. The Steelers got within 3 points of the Jaguars, but by then the game was already over.
The Jags will have the task of stopping arguably the greatest quarterback of all-time, Tom Brady. Tom at the age of 40 is seeking his 6th championship ring. Putting him in legendary company out of all sports. He is the Jordan of the NFL.
The Jags defense did not play their best football when they played the steelers on Sunday. They allowed Ben Roethlisberger to throw for 469 yards and 5 touchdowns. Steelers wide receiver caught 7 passes for 132 yards. He really dominated the secondary towards the end of the game.
The Jags will have to play better if they hope to defeat the Patriots in New England. New England had a field day versus the Tennessee Titans on Saturday, the same Tennessee team that beat the Jags twice in the regular season.
Blake Bortles played well too, throwing for 214 yards and 1 touchdown. He will have to do the same against the Patriots next week.
If you told me the Jags would be in the position at the start of the season I would say no, but as the season went along and this defense matured over the season, you have to finally buy-in on the Jags possibly going to the Super Bowl.
