After a crazy and up and down season, many believed that the Miami Hurricanes trio of linebackers would forgo their senior year for the NFL. Zach McCloud was the first of the trio to announce he was returning to Miami, but Shaq Quarterman and Mike Pickney took some time to give their answer.
Most can probably assume that when their position coach and defensive coordinator took the Temple job 2 weeks ago that the two linebackers were looking at dollars and not The U. But after a crazy final 3 days at Miami, and the announcement of Mark Richt retirement and Manny Diaz returning as the Head Coach, the last two of the Trio announced they would be returning for one last ride.
Miami’s defense will lose a lot of major pieces to it #2 defense in the country. Having all 3 linebackers back insures that the linebacker group will still be solid for at least 1 more season.
