Morehouse football did well this season, so it is only fitting that the Morehouse basketball team continues the trend. The Maroon Tigers’ Mens basketball team is off to a 10-1 start. The only loss coming to Miles College. The Tigers are averaging just over 80 points a game. Winning by a margin of just over 17 points this season.
The Tigers are shooting 48.5% from the field. But the biggest stat is in the rebounding department. The Maroon Tigers have averaged 39.6 rebounds a game. The Morehouse Men are also playing selfless ball as well. They’re averaging 18.2 assist a game. That is about 10 more assist than their opponent. One of the reasons why the opponents haven’t been able to pass the ball on Morehouse is because Morehouse is averaging 10 steals a game. I would not be surprised if the opposite team’s players are second guessing every pass they are attempting.
Senior Forward/Guard, Omar Alston, is leading the Morehouse men in points per game; averaging just over 16 points per game. Alston is also leading the team in rebounds. He is averaging 11 points per game. With that being said, Alston if he continues this run will average a double double for the season.
