The way Tom Brady obtained his first Super Bowl against the Rams in 2002, he will return to play the same team. Tom was clutch in the last two quarters and his dominance is remarkable. He is the Goat, regardless of what people say about him, Tom Brady has had ICE in his veins when the game is on the line.
The Patriots game plan was almost flawless, as they held the highest scoring offense in the league to zero points in the first half. The Patriots went up 14-0 with a very conservative game plan. The Patriots ran the ball well; Sony Michel had 29 carries for 113 yards and 3 touchdowns, Rex Burkhead had 12 carries for 41 yards.
The Patriots defense held it together to slow down Patrick Mahomes as much as they could. Besides losing the coin flip in overtime, Patrick Mahomes was flawless. He was 16/31 for 295 yards and 3 touchdowns. Mahomes had a put together a game winning drive that would have given his team the win if the quarterback on the other side of the field wasn’t Tom Brady. Mahomes played great, but he also missed a few passes. The pass to a wide open Tyreek Hill in the back of the end zone was huge. Hill was had only 1 catch for 42 yards. The Patriots made sure Hill wasn’t going to be a big factor. The DBs for the Patriots were physical against the receivers for the Chiefs. Making it very difficult for Hill and other receivers to do what the Chiefs have been known for all season.
Although the Patriots won the game, Patrick Mahomes is the future of the NFL. The way he played with down the stretch of the game shows he has what all great quarterback have. The sauce you can’t create, but must have in you. A true competitor when the game is on the line. Mahomes might be the NFL MVP after the season he has had.
