Bethune-Cookman will be be starting their season off in the Meac/Swac Challenge September 1st in Atlanta, Georgia against Jackson State. In the past two seasons B-CU finished the season with only 7 wins and 2nd place in the MEAC. B-CU is looking to build off last season with a conference championship.
For the past 4 years, the MEAC and all of the HBCU programs have watched North Carolina A&T dominate the competition. B-CU was crushed by NCAT at home, in a game many believed would have been closer. B-CU was coming off a 3-game win streak before NCAT came to town.
Bethune needs to start the season off on a good note if they want to compete and maybe even take the MEAC away from NCAT. 2019 will start against a rebuilding program with a Florida Gator transfer expecting to get the nod at quarterback against B-CU.
B-CU will be looking to return to their former glory starting on September 1st. From 2010 to 2015, the Wildcats won the MEAC Conference 5 out of the 6 years with 2 HBCU Football Championships. Terry Sims took over in 2015 and won the conference his first year as the head coach, but since that year, the Wildcats have only finished second or worse.
Wildcats will need to show some progression this season, or the seat could get HOT in Daytona!
