As usual, most of the games that are week 1 games are with FCS vs FBS programs. Most call it tune up games for the bigger schools in the FBS, but for the FCS programs it is a payday. A chance for the smaller programs to get some air time and kinda beat up on. The Thursday night game for the FAMU Rattlers against the UCF Knights was just what it was…. a payday for the Rattlers.
UCF out gained the FAMU Rattlers 694 yards to FAMU’s 96. The UCF defense had only 2 sacks against the Rattlers. There were no turnovers for either team, which is a great sign for the Rattlers heading into games against FCS opponents.
UCF played 3 quarterbacks on Thursday night, with the Notre Dame transfer, Brandon Wimbush putting up the most yards. Wimbush biggest competition Dillon Gabriel threw for 127 yards and 3 touchdown. The numbers are similar to Wimbush’s 167 yards and 2 touchdowns. We will see how the season go for the knights and their quarterback situation.
