Makur Maker Could Make the leap from High School to NBA

The 5-Star Kentucky commit, Makur Maker, has been granted the opportunity to go from high school to the NBA. Makur cousin ,Thon Maker, currently plays for the Detroit Pistons. This opportunity is only possible because of the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement that says ” a player is eligible if he is 19 years of age and at least one NBA season elapsed since the player’s graduation from high school or graduation of the class with which the player would have graduated”. Maker turned 19 in November.

Although he has been deemed eligible, this does not mean Maker will definitely enter the draft. The once Top-30 recruit has fallen to No. 77th due to some poor play in front of some big time scouts. Some have Maker going in the late second round. So Kentucky might get their center after all.
