Every year after the NFL Combine mock drafts to rank where players might go pop up everywhere. It’s a fun time for sports writers like myself. Unfortunately, I don’t know what NFL franchises might do once draft day begins. What I do that is very effective is breaking the draft down into positions and ranking them.
The wide receiver position in this years draft is an interesting one because you have so many guys who were productive in college but nothing spectacular out side of just a few.Unfortunately, this gives franchises the feeling that they can wait to draft a wide receiver until later rounds. There’s a lot of solid players who will fall in the draft because of injuries in college, but in my top 10 list I’m looking at the potential ceiling of a player instead of the floor. One guy on this list might shock you.
- Jameson Williams WR, Alabama
- Chris Olave WR, Ohio State
- Garrett Wilson WR, Ohio State
- Treylon Burks WR, Arkansas
- John Metchie WR, Alabama
- Jahan Dotson WR, Penn State
- David Bell WR, Purdue
- Drake London WR, USC
- George Pickens WR, Georgia
- Justyn Ross WR, Clemson
