It Errol Spence Jr. (26-0, 22 KO) did the heavy lifting this weekend by unifying the IBF, WBC, and WBA welterweight titles with the 10th round stoppage win over Yordenis Ugas.
With that being said, there’s only one opponent who remains in the division: Terence Crawford. Before this weekend, Spence had been out the ring for 17 months due to a major car crash that almost took his life and his career.
In July of 2021, Spence was set to fight Manny Pacquiao but was halted by a retina issue that would require surgery. Now, after last night’s dominating performance, Spence has called all Terence Crawford.
“Everybody knows who I want next. I want Terence Crawford next. That’s the Fight I want, that’s the fight everybody wants. Like I said, I’m going to go get these straps and I’m gonna go over there and take his shit too. Man down, It’s strap season baby. Terence, I’m coming for that belt.”
Terence Crawford (38-0, 29 KO) holds the last belt needed to unify the division WBO belt. There shouldn’t be any other obstacles preventing this fight from being made.
