University of Memphis announced a $150-200M renovation plan of Liberty Stadium

The Power 5 programs are not the only segment of college football that can renovate or build new stadiums. University of Memphis and the city of Memphis are looking to update the Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.

Simmons Bank Stadium is home to the Memphis Tigers and the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. A game that has been held there since 1965.

Through private and public investments, the goal is to have the project completed by 2025.

The transformations include:

  • Transformation of the stadium west side
  • Halo space surrounding the stadium
  • Family boxes and student party deck

Built in the early 1960s, the stadium has gone through multiple renovations over the years. These upgrades will continue to make this facility a first rate destination for major events.
