Breaking News: Coach Deion Sanders expected to accept Colorado head coaching job

Coach Deion Sanders

As Jackson State prepares to play for the SWAC Conference Championship game, the news has come out that head coach Deion Sanders is expected to accept the coaching job at Colorado. Jackson State is currently 11-0 headed into this weekend’s matchup with Southern.

The winner of that game will play for the HBCU National Championship in Atlanta, Georgia. There’s no word on if coach Sanders will coach the National Championship if they win on Saturday.

Coach Deion Sanders successfully turned the Jackson State football program around. He’s managed to have a 26-5 record with a SWAC Title and Celebration Bowl appearance. Again, if Jackson State wins tomorrow then he will add another.

Although Coach Sanders moves from an HBCU, his presence and impact during his time has ignited a new love for HBCU athletics around the country. He’s helped bring awareness to a group of universities and players that have been overlooked for years.

One of his biggest moments off the field include signing Travis Hunter, the #1 recruit in the 2022 recruiting class. There’s no word on if cornerback Travis Hunter and his son, Jackson State’s starting quarterback Shedeur Sanders would leave with him.

However, the way this is being handled could be considered questionable. If the report is true, that means Coach Sanders has been actively building out his staff and recruiting transfer portal players for Colorado.

Furthermore, since news broke about Coach Sanders being linked to multiple head coaching jobs, Sanders has only publicly said Colorado offered him.
