Although premature, there are serious rumors that Miami could be losing Tyler Van Dyke to the transfer portal.
TVD is the projected starter for Miami heading into 2023. It would be a huge blow to the Miami Hurricanes if TVD left for another opportunity.
Since landing at Miami, TVD has had 3 different offensive coordinators. His best season was in 2021 when current SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee ran the offense.
Last season, Miami’s offense adjusted significantly under Josh Gattis offense. The team lost the explosive plays they were known for with Lashlee. Gattis was let go in January, which was needed.
Now, Shannon Dawson will have the opportunity to bring the offense back to where Lashlee had left off. However, the offense will only go as far as the quarterback.
Again, the rumors of Tyler Van Dyke leaving for another program are just rumors at the moment.
Nonetheless, in this era of NIL and transfer portal, every player on your roster has to be recruited to stay. Unfortunately, the rumor going around is that Alabama is interested in the signal caller.
Tyler Van Dyke has a NIL deal with LifeWallet. LifeWallet is led by John Ruiz. Ruiz has financed majority of the NIL deals at Miami.
There’s reports from Canesports that collectives from other programs are offering Van Dyke very lucrative offers. If Van Dyke was to transfer, that would leave Miami with an incosistant Jacurri Brown and freshman Emory Williams.
Van Dyke is represented by Drew Rosenhaus, and neither have denied the rumors.
