Have you ever heard of 90,000 fans showing up to a volleyball game? No! But, as of August 30, 2023, the Nebraska Cornhuskers have. The Cornhuskers girls volleyball team hosted Omaha University in Memorial Stadium. The venue is home to the prestigious Nebraska Cornhusker football team.
The official attendance topped out at 92,003 fans. The university was aiming to to beat the record previously held by Barcelona and Real Madrid Champion league Soccer match. That battle brought out 91,648 fans.
Once more, Nebraska took the opportunity to host two division II volleyball powerhouses and a concert. Typically, Memorial Stadium only holds 85,000 fans, but this event had additional seating on the field.
