NBA Hall-of-Famer Tracy McGrady creates basketball league

Tracy McGrady, the seven-time all star and NBA Hall-of-Famer has created his own basketball league. The league is centered around a 1-on-1 format to find out who is the best basketball player one-on-one.

The idea was sparked by the new generation of basketball fans short attention spans. Tracy McGrady in a recent interview said ” they can’t sit there for 2 to 3 1/2 hours of basketball, but they can watch short form like youtube.” He looked for things the players and fans of this generation can resinate with.

If you ask any basketball fan we always ask about who is the best player in the NBA? Who can win if they went 1 on 1? Tracy McGrady’s league, Ones Basketball Association or OBA, essentially solves that problem. OBA is looking to find out who is the baddest 1-on-1 player in the nation.

The league opens up April 30th in Houston, TX and concludes in June with the finals playing out in July. The 2022 season will be men only, but in 2023 women will be brought on. Each city will hold a two day, 32 player round-robin tournament. Participants must be 18 and up, not under a NBA contract, or have been on an NBA roster for less than 164 games.

The winner of each region will walk away with $10,000 and an invitation to the finals in July. With that being said, the finals champion will walk away with $250,000.
