UWF vs Valdosta State

The Valdosta State Blazers comes to Pensacola, Florida to take on UWF Argonauts. This game opens conference play for the Argos, and this will be the second conference game the Blazers will be playing this season.

Last week the Blazers lost to conference foe, North Alabama, 30-24 at home. Putting their record at 0-2 so far, this season. The Blazers would love to bounce back from last week’s defeat with a win over the undefeated Argos.

Last year, the Blazers were able to move the ball well on the Argonauts young defense. The Blazers jumped out to a 20 -7 lead in the first quarter on the Argonauts. The Argos eventually regained the lead, but let it slip away later in the 4th.

As for this year, the Argos come into this game undefeated. The Argos had a shaky start to the year with a defensive win over Missouri S&T, 20 – 16. Last week against Chowan, the Argos offense let it rip as they put up 51 points on Chowan.

This week I have the Argos on upset alert! The Argo haven’t been tested, and if the offense takes too long to get started like last season, Valdosta State could run away with this one.

Although Valdosta State has not won a game, the Blazers losses came against solid teams that are usually well coached.

Mike Beaudry, UWF Quarterback, will have to play his best game of the season. Valdosta State will be the first real challenge he will face this year.

UWF: 33

Valdosta State: 28
